Family Values

Value, as the dictionary explains it, is a person's or thing's ability to solve a purpose or cause an effect. Value as we might know it today is the monetary amount associated with something. But actually, value means as the dictionary describes. It can also be best described by its synonyms Principles or Morals.

'Family values' term is restricted by people to be charitable habits but there is a lot more to it. 'Family Values' describe a set of principles that have been a tradition in the family since ages with generation after generation respecting them, maintaining and taking them to a higher level. They may differ from family to family but the basic essence behind it remains the same that is, teaching the new generation something that was inherited from the previous one and which is tried, tested and improved upon.

Family values can include minute details like eating something particular for dinner everyday and it can also infer something highly respectable like donating things on birthday etc. The importance of family values is maintaining a growing society. If the older generations do not pass on their experiences and beliefs to the younger generation, the younger generation would explore the same things as their fore fathers and thus, generations after generations of man would try to explore the same things.

If family values had been absent, man would still be into the Cave Era trying to figure out better ways of living. Because the new found things both discovered and invented were passed on to the newer generations that man today lives in a high tech world of comfort and luxury.

Family values also aim at making children fine elements of society when they grow up. Everyone wants to be well accepted and niched into the norms of society. Family values help children develop such habits from childhood itself. For example, Mr. Perry's family tradition is that on each day of the week they eat food from the different continents in its traditional style, this has trained their children into the art of eating with cutlery ranging from fork and knife to chopsticks.

These are basically the different habits that people inculcate into their younger ones in different ways, with a single aim, that they turn out to be fine gentlemen and ladies.
